Summer Information

Poly Boys Summer XC Info
Last Day of School: Mid June


First Summer Practice: First week of summer, then 3 week dead period.
     *50% rule for ALL returning runners.  ALL returning runners must attend at least 50% of summer practices to be eligible to return to the team & compete for Poly XC when school starts.


Dead Period: Mon. Late June  - Sat. Mid July
     *Run w/ your teammates or on your own.


Mammoth: Sat.  -  Sun. 1st/2nd Week of August
    *32 spots for returning runners that train hard & attend most summer practices & have appropriate mileage.


Mammoth Bonus Camp: Wed.  - Sat. Before Regular Camp
    *Up to 12 spots for returning & prospective varsity runners.


School Starts: Late. Aug.


Bun Run Sat. Saturday late Aug.

 

Summer XC Training Schedule 

                      
Mon  Heartwell Park 8-10am  Meet by Library

(Bellflower & Carson)


Tues Signal Hill 8-10am  Meet at Chittick Field

(PCH & Walnut)


Wed El Dorado Park 8-10pm  Meet by Tennis Courts & Libr.   (On Studebaker btwn Willow & Spring)


Thur With a teammate or on your own.  Light recovery run or cross train


Fri Los Cerritos Park 8-10am  Meet by playground.

Lower side of park.


Sat Long Run:

  Whittier Runners 6:30-9.  Carpool, drivers needed!  Meet at Town Center near Starbucks

  Signal Hill Runners 7:00-8:30  Meet at Chittick Field


Sun Off, make up or x-train
 

DOUBLES!  ALL returning runners should plan on doubling:

June = 1-2 days/week, July 2-3 days/week, Aug 3-4 days/week
